How to connect SameDay with easySales: a complete setup guide

How to connect SameDay with easySales: a complete setup guide

Connect SameDay to easySales for Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria: every field on the form, why Get Details is required each time, how to run several pickup points, and what each SameDay refusal means.

What connecting SameDay gives you

With SameDay connected, easySales creates the AWB for an order, prints the label, tracks the parcel and can cancel the shipment — without you opening SameDay at all.

There are three SameDay cards in easySales, one per country: SameDay for Romania, SameDay HU for Hungary and SameDay BG for Bulgaria. They look the same and are filled in the same way, but they are separate accounts and they do not all do the same things. The differences are at the end of this guide.

Before you start

SameDay API credentials

A username and password issued by SameDay for API use. They are not necessarily the ones you sign in to SameDay's own site with.

At least one pickup point in your SameDay account

easySales reads the list from SameDay. A connection carries exactly one, so count your warehouses — that is how many connections you will need.

A shipping service on your tariff

The Services list comes from your own SameDay agreement. easySales cannot create an AWB until one is chosen.

An address for undeliverable orders

Not a field yet, but decide it now: the e-mail address SameDay should get when an order has no customer e-mail. It goes in Fallback email and it prevents the most common rejection there is.

Step 1 — Open the Couriers page

Go to Integrations → Couriers and search for sameday. In the newer navigation the same page sits under Integrations → Delivery → Couriers.

The Couriers page in easySales filtered to SameDay, showing three cards — SameDay with a Romanian flag and a Connected state, SameDay HU with a Hungarian flag and SameDay BG with a Bulgarian flag, both not connected.
Three SameDay cards, one per country. The flag on the card is how you tell them apart.

The flag on each card tells you which country it is. Press Connect on the one you have an account with.

Step 2 — Enter your credentials and press Get details

Fill in Connection Name, Account Name and Password, then press Get Details.

Connection Name is yours alone — it never reaches SameDay. It is the name you will pick from when you create an AWB, so name it after the warehouse it ships from.

Step 3 — Fill in the connection

The SameDay connection form in easySales showing Connection Name, Account Name, Password, AWB Format, Services, Additional Services, Pickup Location, Insured delivery and Send order ID as internal reference.
The whole connection. Everything below Password appears only after Get Details.
Field What it is for
Connection Name Required. Your own name for this account and pickup point. It is what you pick from when creating an AWB.
Account Name and Password Required. Your SameDay API credentials — not the login for SameDay's own website unless they are the same.
AWB Format A4 or A6 — the size SameDay renders the label at. A6 is the thermal-label size.
Services The SameDay service every AWB from this connection uses. The list comes from your own SameDay tariff. A connection saves without one, but no AWB can be created until it is set.
Additional Services Extras offered by the service you chose. Changing the service clears them.
Pickup Location Required. The SameDay pickup point this connection collects from. One per connection.
Insured delivery Declares the value of the goods, including VAT, on every AWB.
Send order ID as internal reference Prints your order number on the SameDay invoice. See the warning below before turning it on.
Notes template What is printed in the observations line on the label.

Step 4 — The notes template

The Notes template box sets what is printed in the observations line on every label from this connection. The buttons above it insert values from the order and from its products — order ID, invoice series, quantity and SKU, warehouse location.

Step 5 — Printing settings and advanced options

Both sections are collapsed. Neither is required, but one setting inside Show advanced options prevents the most common avoidable failure there is.

The expanded printing settings and advanced options of a SameDay connection, showing Paper size, Scale type, Fallback email, Try to autodetect district and Generate packages based on the number of packages of the product.
Fallback email is the box worth filling in. Try to autodetect district exists only on the Romanian card.
Setting What it does
Paper size / Scale type Only used when you print through the easySales Printer connection, and only for this courier. They override the printer's own defaults. This is not the same as AWB Format: SameDay decides what the label looks like, these decide how it lands on paper.
Fallback email The address sent to SameDay when the order has no customer e-mail. Fill it in.
Try to autodetect district Romanian card only. Works out the Bucharest sector from the street address when the order does not carry one.
Generate packages based on the number of packages of the product Counts the parcels on the AWB from the package count on each product, instead of always sending one.

One pickup point per connection

A connection carries exactly one Pickup Location. If you ship from two warehouses, you need two connections — and that is normal: more than a third of SameDay sellers on easySales run several.

To add one, open the menu on the SameDay card and choose Connect another courier account. To copy an existing one, open it and press Clone.

The three-dot menu open on the SameDay card in easySales, showing Connect another courier account, Documentation and Register.
A second pickup point means a second connection, added from the card's ⋮ menu.

Each connection keeps its own service, pickup point, extras and notes template. When you create an AWB, you pick the connection by its Connection Name.

Return AWBs

On the SameDay card the form has two tabs, Delivery account and Return account. A return connection is a connection like any other, plus the address the parcel comes back to.

The delivery address block on the SameDay Return account tab, with Name, Phone, Email address, Address, Postal Code, Country, County and Locality filled in for a Bucharest sector.
A return connection adds the address the parcel comes back to. In Bucharest the Locality has to name the sector.

Every field in that block is required, and two of them are strict:

  • Postal Code must be exactly six characters for Romania.
  • Locality must be a place SameDay recognises. In Bucharest it must name the sector — write Sector 3 and easySales converts it to the form SameDay expects. Without it the save is refused with Missing district/sector information.

Creating AWBs

From What you get
Quick Create on the orders list Choose SameDay, then the connection by its name — with the estimated cost next to each. One AWB, straight away, using everything set on that connection.
Create AWB on the order page The same, plus the details a connection cannot hold: envelopes, parcels, total weight, cash-on-delivery value, per-AWB extras, and delivery to a locker instead of an address.
The orders list, several orders selected One AWB per order, all on the same connection.
Where AWBs are created

When SameDay refuses an AWB

What SameDay says What to do
LockerLastMile dat este invalid … The locker on the order is not one SameDay will deliver to any more. Open the order and choose another locker.
Această valoare nu ar trebui să fie necompletată. Almost always the recipient e-mail, and the order does not have one. Fill in Fallback email under Show advanced options.
Tara pentru expeditor si destinatar trebuie sa fie similara pentru expeditiile non cross border. A domestic service is being used for an address in another country. Pick the cross-border service on the connection, or on the AWB.
Tara pentru expeditor si destinatar trebuie sa fie diferita pentru expeditiile cross border. The opposite: a cross-border service on a domestic shipment.
Această valoare este prea scurtă. Ar trebui să aibă minim 3 caractere. The delivery address is too short. Complete it on the order.
Această valoare trebuie să conțină exact 6 caractere. The postal code. Romanian codes are six digits — on the order, or on the return address of the connection.
Minim 4 caractere. Maxim 24 caractere. Alte caractere permise: cifre . ( ) + - The phone number on the order is not a shape SameDay accepts.
Campul client_internal_reference nu este unic. This order's ID has already been used as a reference. Turn off Send order ID as internal reference on the connection.
PUDO-ul nu permite plata coletului. / Locker-ul nu permite plata coletului. The pickup point or locker chosen does not take payment on delivery. Deliver to an address, or collect payment beforehand.
Valoarea ar trebui sa fie intre 0 si 10000. The cash-on-delivery value is outside what SameDay accepts on that shipment.
Entitatea … este inactiv(a). SameDay no longer serves that locality. The address has to change.

Nu ati completat campul "Servicii" din integrarea cu curierul SameDay The connection has no service set. Open it, press Get Details, choose one under Services and save.
Invalid credentials. The account name or password is wrong, or the SameDay account no longer allows API access.
error code: 502 SameDay's API did not answer. Nothing is wrong on your side — try again.
What SameDay's most common refusals mean

Cancelling an AWB

easySales can cancel a SameDay AWB, and it passes SameDay's answer back unchanged.

What is different on SameDay HU and SameDay BG

Both use the same form and the same fields as the Romanian card, against their own SameDay account. What they do not have:

  • No Return account tab and no return AWBs. Returns through SameDay are Romania only.
  • No service requests.
  • No "Try to autodetect district" — that option exists only on the Romanian card, because it is about Bucharest sectors.

Fallback email and Generate packages based on the number of packages of the product work on all three.

Frequently asked questions

Because the form only shows them once it has checked your credentials. Press Get Details and they come back, along with Save. This happens every time you open the connection, not only the first time — nothing is wrong and nothing has been lost.

No. Each connection stores exactly one pickup location. To ship from a second one, add a second connection: open the ⋮ menu on the SameDay card and choose Connect another courier account, or open an existing connection and press Clone. Give each a distinct Connection Name.

On the orders list, open Quick Create and choose SameDay. A second level then lists your connections by their Connection Name, with the estimated cost beside each. Pick the one you want.

The recipient e-mail. easySales sends the customer's address; when the order does not have one, nothing is sent and SameDay refuses the AWB. Fill in Fallback email under Show advanced options on the connection and that address is used instead. This is the most common preventable SameDay failure.

Turn off Send order ID as internal reference on the connection. SameDay accepts each reference only once, so once an AWB has been created with an order's ID that ID cannot be used again — which also means an AWB deleted while the option is on cannot be recreated for the same order.

AWB Format — A4 or A6 — is the size SameDay renders the label at when easySales downloads it. Paper size under Printing settings only applies when you print through the easySales Printer connection, and it overrides your printer's default for this courier alone.

SameDay refuses the cancellation, and easySales reports its answer unchanged. It means the parcel has already moved far enough that SameDay will not withdraw it. There is nothing to retry — cancel an AWB you created in error as soon as you notice.

Yes, with the Romanian SameDay card. Open the connection, switch to the Return account tab and fill in the delivery address block — name, phone, address, postal code, country, county and locality are all required. SameDay HU and SameDay BG do not offer return AWBs.

For Bucharest the Locality field has to name the sector — write Sector 3, for example. easySales converts it to the form SameDay expects. Any locality SameDay does not recognise is refused with "Invalid district/sector information." instead.

The additional services saved on the connection no longer match what SameDay offers on that account — SameDay renumbers them from time to time. Open the connection, press Get Details, re-select the extras under Additional Services and save.

Not on the connection. Open the order and create the AWB from the order page: that form carries number of envelopes, number of parcels, total weight, cash-on-delivery value, a per-AWB override of the additional services, and delivery to a locker instead of a street address.
